Admirer Behind the Scenes (POEM)

They call you angel, they call you queen;

They call you beauty and symbol' serene;

They call you princess and goddess born;

They call you temptress, a rose behind poison thorn.

These names lie close to broken heart,

Cascading through every channel, immersing every part;

Of angels and goddesses I've sang before,

But never again another like you -- never more.

Stumble upon a rock when reaching for a star,

Plunge into endless chasm when leaping too far:

These things we learn from birth to death,

Their lessons wrought in every word and every breath.

Reach I not for stars too bright,

Leap I not that gulf with lacking might.

Seek I not to claim you for my own,

Lest I try to pluck fruit from seeds unsown.

These hands fashion no greatness, no construct to awe,

These feet travel no vastness, tread no marbled hall.

Peasant bred and peasant born, are they,

So peasant's tools and peasant-stock, they'll stay.

Admirer my name, wisher my roll,

Happiness the price and tears the toll,

Dreamer my part, regret my mask,

Desire the unattainable, my endless task.

Vows were made before road I'm on,

Solemn words spoken in times long gone,

To bar the heart and seal the gate,

So aching admiration, my fruitless fate.

Shine thee on, my brilliant star,

In other arms and places far,

Spread your wings, my princess divine,

Though I receive neither beauty nor grace of thine.

He calls you princess, he calls you queen,

He calls you his flower serene.

Those you are, peerless without score...

So I admire thee from now till ever more.

Kai

As usual, this is good.

Don't know why I missed it until now, but certainly glad I read it.

Thanks.

Wow... there are no words to describe how beautiful this is!
I'm totally... speechless!
For someone who is going through this right now... not being good enough for that one person that they would give anything for, this is totally the poem, and as was said, you write beautifully!
Keep up the good work, and bigbigbigbigbigbigbig hugs to ya!
